Survival of the Fittest

I am back from my Dallas Interview adventure and lived to tell about it.

It was a very intense, very fun, but super exhausting day in the Big D. As you saw from my last post I was all over the Dallas metro but it was worth it. I got the chance to talk to some really great people and agencies.

Aside from my interviews I also got well versed in manuevering through Dallas traffic. It is a little more crowded and fast-paced but by the end of the day I felt like a pro!

I am getting excited for the big move.

Interviews, Interviews, Interviews

Some of you may know and some of you may not but Chase and I will be moving to Dallas come December.

What that means for me is...new job.

So, tomorrow I am heading to Dallas for some job interviews. Five in one day. Woah! Am I crazy?

They are also all over the Dallas Metro area so I will be criss-crossing my way all over Dallas.

Here is a view of my destinations courtesy of Google Maps.

Dallas here I come. Wish me luck!

Power Clothes

This Friday I am headed to Dallas for a few job interviews. I decided that this called for some new interview outfits. You know, "power clothes."

I ended up at The Limited which was the end all be all of good powerful women's job clothes. I found some really great stuff including this two-in-one dress that I can't wait to wear!

I also ended up with two other pencil skirts and a suit jacket. Plus, some new shoes from Nine West.

All in all, a great shopping day. Mission accomplished.

Gym Duo

Since I now live with my parents and have live-in buddies for several activities that I didn't have before...I decided to drag my mom to the gym with me.

We hit up Aspen together and I showed her the ropes for getting a good workout. She even did cable triceps extensions!

The buddy system is kind of nice.

Movie Reviews

After my marathon movie going experience this weekend, I saw a movie on Friday, Saturday and Sundy, I decided to do a movie review post on each of the flicks I saw.

The scale will be based on a letter grading system. Each movie will get a fair review based on several factors which matter to me.

Movie # 1- The Time Traveler's Wife (B+)

I must first say that my opinion may be a little biased because I was first obsessed with this book and had been counting down the days to this release on my iGoogle page. The movie was good and in most cases very true to the book (except where it made logical sense to change it). I do feel like I had a better insight into what was going on since I read the book and it is probably confusing to those who have not. All in all, for me, it lived up to my expectations. But don't go into this movie thinking you will like it unless you have come to the understanding that time travel exists and you are going to believe for 2 hours.

Movie # 2- 500 Days of Summer (A-)

500DaysofSummer

If you want a fun, quirky, make you smile movie then this will do it. I loved the fact that the tables were turned and you got to watch a man be the sappy romantic. (Because yes, it does exist). This movie was a joy to watch and was one of the few movies that shows what relationships are really like. The pairing of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zoey Deschanel was perfect, their playful personalities worked well together. My one problem...it is a little slow in places and sometimes boring showing the mundane areas of relationships.

Move # 3- Julie & Julia (A)

This was a delightful and charming movie. I enjoyed every minute of it. It is fun and sad and whimsical all at the same time. Amy Adams is great and Meryl Streep is fantastic as usual. Watching the two separate stories and how they melded together was very entertaining. It was also very interesting to see a side of Julia Child I was not aware of. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie. Probably my favorite of the weekend.

My butt and back is sore from sitting in the movie theater position but it was worth it!

Art Project

Two years ago at the Paseo Arts Festival I fell in love with some paintings. Unfortunately they were way out of my price range to purchase.

After going back this year and seeing them again I decided I was going to try and replicate them. Much cheaper and would suffice for now. So I bought my art supplies at Hobby Lobby, turned on the iTunes and started painting.

Laura Nugent is the amazing artist that does the originals, and one day when I have money I will definitely purchase an original.

That is not the exact painting I tried to replicate but you can get the style. I think I did a pretty good job.

I can't wait to find a place for it in our new house.
